Best first-aid course!

The course was ran by Sarah Watson. She has been an amazing tutor and is brilliant at delivering. Really professional and kind. The course itself was really engaging. Tons of information and real life scenarios. Would recommend Sarah and the course to others for sure. It’s been wonderful.

First Aid in the workplace is a legal requirement

British law requires that employers must provide a safe and healthy environment for their employees as a result of The Health and Safety (First-Aid) Regulations 1981. Furthermore, this law requires employers to provide suitable equipment, facilities, and personnel to ensure that their employees receive immediate and appropriate assistance if they are injured or taken ill at work. Moreover, OJ Safety can provide appropriate, competent first-aid assessment courses to determine whether trained first-aiders are needed. Additionally, what should be included in an onsite first-aid box, and if a first-aid room is required. This will vary depending on the workplace, the environment, and the number of employees, among other factors. This training will identify all potential hazards and allow you to make an informed decision on the necessary action(s) to achieve complete compliance.

The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) has the power to prosecute any business where there is a significant risk, a clear disregard for existing standards, or persistent poor compliance with the law. However, this can be avoided by being consistently proactive with your Health and Safety training accreditations. OJ Health and Safety can provide a fully managed service that will monitor and advise you on when you need to renew your certifications. Furthermore, we will also work closely with you at an agreed frequency to understand if there have been any changes in your work environment that may require recertification.

If the First Aid assessment highlights the need for qualified First Aiders, then this Level 3 qualification (Level 6 in Scotland) will provide you with suitable and adequately trained personnel.

This comprehensive three-day course covers a wide range of First Aid emergencies, which enables all participants to deal with an emergency confidently in a prompt, safe, and effective way.

First Aid Training Duration

First Aid Training requires a minimum of 18 hours, which will be spread over at least three days.

Ideally, the course should be run over three consecutive days. However, we can provide the flexibility to accommodate your specific needs if required, if it is completed within 10 weeks of starting the course.

Certification

The assessment is ongoing by the instructor along with a question paper on each of the three days.

Ultimately a three year Level 3 Award in First Aid at Work (Level 6 in Scotland) will be issued to each learner, subject to successful assessment. No external assessors are required.
