IPAF Training

The International Powered Access Federation (IPAF) training programme is globally recognised, developed by leading industry professionals and available in multiple languages across a worldwide network of more than 750 IPAF-approved Training Centres.

A comprehensive range of classroom courses covers mobile elevating work platforms (MEWPs) including boom, scissor, 1b, 3a and 3b categories of machines, mast climbing work platforms (MCWPs) and construction hoists. Courses are aimed at operators, service technicians, delivery drivers, managers/supervisors, demonstrators, installers and instructors.

IPAF training courses help you keep your employees safe and it ensures that you are in line with all legalities.

The IPAF Operator course is a mix of theory and practical, designed to teach you how to manoeuvre, drive and position MEWPs safely and proficiently. The most popular course is the 3a and 3b course, which shows you how to operate scissor and boom lifts.

You must have a good understanding of spoken and written English.  Please contact us if you have any concerns in this area.

Successful delegates will be awarded with the PAL (Powered Access Licence) Card, sometimes also called the IPAF Card. This is valid for five years. The delegate’s name, photograph, assessment date and the type of IPAF course he/she has passed will be clearly shown, alongside the expiry date and PAL/IPAF card logos.

Individuals who will be working with powered access equipment after this time will need to revisit their IPAF training to receive new IPAF certification by undertaking another IPAF course relevant to their job role.
