A fire compartmentation survey aims to prevent the spread of smoke and fire. This is done by dividing the building to protect fire escape routes, and high risk or high-value area’s of a building to prevent huge losses financially and more importantly, ensure people can escape easily.
The Fire Risk Assessment you currently have in place should include a review of the existing fire compartmentation measures. One thing to bear in mind though is that a fire risk assessment won’t necessarily cover every area of fire compartmentation.
