At OJ Safety, we are on hand to to assist you with Construction Design & Management Regulations Services. One of the key roles within CDM Regulations is The Principal Designer who is responsible for the following:

  • Plan, manage and monitor the pre-construction phase and coordinate matters relating to health and safety so that as far as reasonably practical the project is carried out without risks to health and safety.
  • Apply the general principles of prevention as set out in the Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999 and where relevant the content of any construction phase health and safety plan and health and safety file.
  • Prepare the pre construction health and safety plan for the project.
  • Notify the project when required.
  • Prepare the health and safety file, and review, update and revise it as the project progresses.

 

CDM, What is it?

CDM is a set of regulations that apple to all construction projects in the UK; commercial, domestic and temporary works. They are usually refered to as CDM 2015, Construction (Design & Management) regulations 2015. They have been around since 1994 but with the 2015 regulations being the most recent.

CDM is applicable to all aspects of construction, whether you are replacing a kitchen all the way up to a development of 100+ houses!

CDM exists to improve the health & safety of any construction project from start to finish, this also includes the planning in the pre-construction phase all the way through to the completion of the project.
